Project Case Study
Cambridge Assessment HQ
Project: Cambridge Assessment HQ
Works Completed : Fire Alarm System and Whole Life Safety Package
Main Contractor: Bouygues Construction
Our largest project to date; following a tender process and due to our extensive accreditations, J-Tech were selected to provide the entire life safety package to this flagship and award-winning commercial office building designed by Eric Parry Architects. It is currently the largest commercial office space in Cambridge.
Working with the Bouygues Design and Commercial team, we identified some options to minimise the aesthetic impact of the Fire Alarm detection. Detector locations were pre-installed to the chilled beams along with all other M and E services extending from a central spline bulkhead significantly reducing the installation time.
We supplied and installed a full analogue addressable Fire System consisting of 5 panels, 6 of the latest Advanced Electronics touchscreen repeaters and over 1200 devices; 4 areas of Vesda aspirating detection, 2 comms rooms of Novec Gas suppression and 2 comms rooms of FM200 Gas Suppression. As part of the design brief, we also designed an innovative system of Go/No-Go lighting and a PA/VA System to the external garden areas to control phased egress from the building in the event of Fire. A disabled refuge alarm and toilet alarm system, as well as a Mechanical extraction system to the buildings centrepiece 8 storey tower, were also procured and installed as part of the package.
